Involve Your Church

In 1940, a small group of Presbyterians in East Texas dedicated Camp Gilmont – a place for people to grow in their faith for the Lord Jesus Christ. This is still our core mission. Once owned by the Presbytery, Gilmont is now a separate nonprofit corporation. Since 1994, the camp has been owned and directed by a consortium of churches, and is open today, to those churches who voluntarily join in the ministry.  Contact us to find out how your church can share in this wonderful ministry.

Member churches are involved in the following ways:

1.) Contribute financially on an annual basis according to church’s prayerful consideration of its ability to support Gilmont’s ministry;

2. ) Get involved in the work and leadership of Gilmont by helping with different committees or special projects and encouraging church participation in programmed events; and,

3.) Send representatives from the church to attend and vote at the annual meeting.

Annual Corporate Meeting:  All member churches participate in this annual gathering at Gilmont.  Contact your church session moderator.

Serving as a Gilmont Advocate Every church needs a Gilmont Advocate, whether or not you are members of the corporation.  These people receive emails and notices from the camp and the Partnership Ministries Committee about upcoming ministry opportunities at the camp, and provide input as new ministry opportunities are developed.   Email us if you are interested in serving in this capacity for your congregation.

Participate in Special Projects like Adopt a Lodge Room – find out more about this great way to help Gilmont become more adult friendly!
