Purpose

Grace @ Gilmont Mission Statement:  “Responding to God’s call in our lives, the Camps and Conference Ministry of Gilmont and Grace Presbytery humbly, yet fearlessly, seek to promote and enhance life transforming Christian growth by facilitating encounters with the living Christ; a ministry of being, where God encounters us in a fresh way, so that we may be blessed.”

Grace @ Gilmont Camp and Conference Ministries exist to:

• Provide Christian camps, conferences, retreats and events that are rooted in basic Presbyterian theology – acknowledging the sovereignty of God, the authority of the scripture, justification by grace through faith, and the priesthood of all believers.

• Make visible the kingdom of God through spiritual development, faith understanding, Bible study, training, experiential education and leadership development programs, events and opportunities.

• Provide a place where we encounter God in fresh ways and provide a healthy environment for the nurture of church leaders and development of future church leaders.

• Be a place where connections are made and relationships are built – between God and ministry participants, and among the people of the presbytery’s congregations.

• Offer financially, socially or developmentally challenged children, youth and adults opportunity for education, recreation and/or spiritual development in a camp setting.

• Serve as a mission outreach to the diverse communities served by, near, or through Presbyterian churches in Grace Presbytery.

• Promote appreciation for God’s creation and serve as a place where people can experience peace and quiet.
