Summer Camp Ministry
Gilmont Summer Camp 2012 is planned and implemented by the Summer Camp Ministry Team of Grace @ Gilmont.
Theme for 2012:
Secrets of the Kingdom: The Parables of Jesus
Jesus used story telling to teach his disciples –and campers– about what it means to live in his kingdom. These stories are called parables.
Together we will look to the Master Storyteller, Jesus himself, to discover a new parable each day and invite the Holy Spirit to teach us through these sacred stories.
Goals for all Summer Camp Participants include:
- Experience Spiritual Growth
- Build and share community in a safe environment
- Invest time, energy and effort in relationships
- Provide a special place in nature for growing in faith and reflecting on Jesus’ teaching
- Serve others, giving out of God’s love for us through engaging activities at camp
- Equip staff through training and empowerment to serve as leaders who engage the campers, and live out the Goals for Summer Camp
- Have FUN!
