Be a FrOG (Friend Of Gilmont) and join a Work Crew!  All ages and skill levels can give back to Gilmont in a variety of ways.  From clearing trails to new construction – a variety of projects await!

Available Dates, Rates and Perks:

Come with families or your church.  Contact us in advance to schedule your time and plan your visit.  903-797-6400

FrOG weekends start on Thursday and end on Saturday.  You may come for all or part of the time.

  • Dec 5-7, 2013   Perks: training in photography and computer graphic design, bring your laptop and project ideas.
  • Jan 11, 2014  * Day Only—Empty Bowls Event
  • Jan 30-Feb 1, 2014  Perks:  learn about native landscaping
  • Feb 27 – Mar 1, 2014  Advanced Men’s Work Crew Weekend Join FPC Garland Men’s Retreat—higher level construction, electrical and remodel projects.
  • May 15-17, 2014  Women’s Touch  Projects, Thurs. May 15th Perks: Prep and Participate in the Gilmont Jamboree Festival on Saturday
  • June 5-7, 2014   Perks: training in teambuilding and games
  • August 14-16, 2014   Perks: training in clay and art projects
  • September 19-20, 2014  Perks:  training in storytelling
  • December 4-6, 2014   Perks:  Christmas art and decorating

FrOG work crew weekends run Thursday—Saturday.  Register as a group or individual family and come for all or part of the time.  FrOGs pay $30 per person per day, three meals are served and there is no additional charge for overnight stay in cabins (or tree houses). Larger projects require your group to help provide funds to purchase supplies.  The ever changing list of project ideas are posted on the Gilmont website under FrOGs. Let us know what you hope to accomplish during your time with us – we can help you reach  your goals!

  • Event cost is $25 due to the generous donation of a local benefactor. Please mail your payment to Gilmont at 6075 State Hwy 155 N Gilmer, Texas 75644. Be sure to designate the program: Exploring Presbyterian Beliefs, Your Name and your roommate’s name if you are paying for two.
